“The purposes of a person's heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”
I count it as an honor to work with the issues of a person’s heart. My passion is helping individuals, families, and couples get insight into their own lives in a way that brings hope, healing and restoration.
I can’t make your problems go away, but I can collaborate with you and give you tools that will make the journey easier. Many times, that journey involves looking back at where you have been. Looking back into the past, however painful it may be, gives great understanding into your present circumstances and unlocks potential and purpose for your future.
My life experience has given me compassion and empathy for people who are hurting and are in need. I have been on quite a journey myself, so I understand the courage it takes to walk in the door of someone’s office seeking help. I know first-hand how the past can influence the present and can make the future seem less bright. I know what it feels like to have family problems, blended family challenges and the high and lows of marriage. But I also know that there is strength in perseverance and great joy in fulfilling your purpose in life. I believe hope is a powerful force. If your lacking hope, I have extra you can borrow. If you are committed and do the work, this can be a great step in your journey.
My education has been eclectic and highly beneficial. My relevant degrees include: Biblical Studies and over 30 years of Ministry, Family Law Paralegal, Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed in the State of Tennessee, and Certified in EMDR. A lot of my practice involves trauma work from adults to adolescents, so I spent several years furthing my trauma education by becoming Certified in EMDR through EMDRIA. I also work allot with couples and utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which I am presently pursuing certification. I have provided more detailed information about these two therapeutic approaches on my website.
